Beaver County Challenge Badge 2025

Complete 10 of the challenges.

• Visit two Kent Landmarks i.e. a country park, castle, zoo, wildlife centre, railway etc. draw pictures or make a poster about the differences in the places that you have visited. We will then enter your visit locations onto a map of Kent a photo of which we will pop onto the Kent Beaver Scout website at the end of 2025
• Take part in a District or County activity / event
• Meet and learn about someone who serves your community i.e. a police officer, your mayor, a vet, a coastguard, a lifeboat crew member
• Complete at least one Skills 4 Life unit - https://www.kentscouts.org.uk/...
• Share photos (providing consent has been given) and or a brief write up on Kent Beaver Facebook/Twitter / Instagram pages of the BRILLIANT activities that your Colony have been up to - Kent Beaver Scouts Facebook | Kent Beaver Scouts X | Kent Beaver Scouts Instagram 
• Sing a song with a difference – i.e. just with actions or what about sign language
• Cook something yummy to eat on a campfire i.e. a delicious smore
• Support nature by making a bird feeder, bug hotel, hedgehog house – can you take any photos of the birds enjoying their feast, bugs tucked up in the hotel or hedgehogs snuggled in their house? https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-an...
• Take part in an Environmental project in your community i.e. The Big Buzz
• Visit a local care home, show the residents your colony opening and closing ceremonies and also take part in a joint activity with the residents i.e. decorate cards, plant bulbs or make seasonal decorations
• Take part in a sleepover
• Building Money Skills confidence – Each lodge Leader is given a small amount of money (£3). The Lodge Leader and their Lodge chooses a Theme which could be a colour or item and they each buy an item to match the Theme or Colour. Each lodge visits 6 shops (let the shopkeepers know beforehand of the Beaver Scout invasion!) allowing each beaver to have a say in what is brought and how much is spent. The Beavers must make decisions on what they buy and why, also the cost. They also must tell the shopkeeper what they are doing. Once completed they tell the other lodges about their way of collecting.
• Have a joint activity with a Cub pack or a Squirrel Drey
• Go on a nature walk with a twist – using your tracking skills leave a trail for others to follow
• Invite a member of the Kent Beaver Scout Prog Sub Team to your colony – beavers@kentscouts.org.uk
